DeClutter 2021

CEI NGO originally came up with a striking idea to collect old clothes under the category of textile waste management, with an intention to prevent these clothes from ending up in landfills, and to reuse them by sending them to orphanages and recycling units.
Later this idea became much larger with the addition of collecting dry waste ( plastics, cardboards, papers, books, toys, stationary, glass) and e-waste.
CEI partnered up with The Beautiful World Movement (a Hyderabad based NGO (@tbwmorg)), Waste Ventures, and Goonj to carry out this recycling drive on March 20 and 21.
Collections across various gated communities in Hyderabad and simultaneous dropping off of donations by individuals on the same day, and with our robust and effective group of volunteers segregating the waste, with near perfect coordination enabled us to get the humongous work done in just two days time (March 20-21). This drive was a massive success!
And guess what? We ended up collecting whooping 6 tonnes of waste!
Here are some stats for you:
Touched 1000+ families
70+ volunteers
3 tonnes of Clothes
3 tonnes of Recyclables

CEI is grateful to every single person (including the work labour), community, and organisation who made this idea become such a wonderful reality. We hope to conduct many more drives in the future, once the COVID chaos settles down!
